Good Afternoon Everyone,

For anyone that uses APRS (Automatic Packet Positiong System). I now have a APRS Beacon station setup at my house here in Onsted. APRS is used to solely for tracking purposes. But it also can be used to track Radio Operators during EOC (emergency) Operations, Field Day Events, Skywarn Nets (if need be), and just the average hike or drive :-)

APRS Trackers are usually fixed or mobile and can be tracked on the Internet. There are APRS websites that use Google Maps and other media to see where an individual is. I mostly use either Google Maps APRS or FindU.com  Just punch in the Call sign with SSID, and your good to go,     see websites below:

OVERVIEW: The Automatic Packet
 Reporting System
was designed to support rapid, reliable exchange of information for
local, tactical
real-time information, events or nets.   Since the primary
objective is consistent exchange of information between everyone, APRS
established
standard formats not only for the transmission of POSITION, STATUS,
MESSAGES, and
QUERIES, it also establishes guidelines for display so that users of
different
systems will still see the same consistent information displayed in a
consistent
manner (independent of the particular display or mapping system in use).

My Digipeater (iGate)  is  KK1G-10
Mobile tracker is  KK1G-11

Happy Tracking  :-)
