The "05-1944" has been reported as a bad assumption. From what I can
find the serial block was examined and it shows 97-1944. HOWEVER there
have been several instances of the data blocks being "incomplete" so
this may have been a quick change of "0049" to "1944".... PLUS, as this
is an ARMY transport, the proper presentation of the serial should have
had 5 digits after the FY so, if the reports of the data block are
correct (97-1944), then there is reasonable doubt as to its accuracy.
