Not sure if this helps or hinders

but

1]  no trace 280DM on my sbs-1

2] contact with  Hexcode  A21026    showing as N232CF
in reg column last contact 13.33 @40,000feet

232CF has a OCT code of  50410046 on FAA site

this translates to A21026  in Hex

so its looking like N232CF  Is correct and that transponder code has been 
updated
but acars terminal 1 step in arrears
