[ACARS] Aircraft still on HF?

I apologize if this is off topic, but I'm not sure where else to take 
this.  After a long absence, I'm once again monitoring aircraft 
transmissions.  I used to remember a lot of activity on  HF freqs every 
evening as aircraft crossed the Atlantic.  But tonight I've been checking 
8864, 8879, 8891, 8906, which all used to be very active, and I'm hearing 
nothing (this is at about 02Z).  I'm using my ham station with a variety of 
beam and inverted vee antennas, so reception shouldn't be a problem.

Are aircraft still using HF over the Atlantic or have things gone to 
satellite?
