[ACARS] acarsd new release 0.03

Hi all

Free ACARS software (beta testing)  for LINUX and as announced now also for=20
Windows is ready for download . It works even though you may have no receive=
r=20
at all. This could gain the interest and open the door for newbies to ACARS.

The new release 0.03 features download of  e.g. report-22-04-2003.pdf of all=
=20
captured spottings containing links to the  www.planespotting.net website.=20
Furthermore you open the report-22-04-2003.pdf  with, say AcrobatReader5, an=
d=20
click on the icons you will see a photo of the regarding aircraft and more=20
related data. Release 0.03 now also allows for updates that go directly into=
=20
the database of the regarding server. For instance if you know the point of=20
departure and the intended destination for a given flight number you can=20
update the server and after five minutes this information is readily=20
available for all. You can now connect with up to 7 servers at the same time=
.=20
Five servers incl. port address are already included. So this software shoul=
d=20
run right from the spot as soon as you click on "Connect". Not all servers=20
are running 7/24, so jog along. There's even a simple chat included to allow=
=20
for direct and immediate communication between users world wide. Settings=20
were added to the menu to allow for designated filenames and locations on=20
your local hard disk to have aircraft icons and logfiles separately stored.

Those having their own receiver to plug in to their computer's sound card=20
might be eager to see the server version of acarsd. I'll keep you informed.

keinen eigenen Empf=E4nger habt.  Das mag vor allem f=FCr jene interessant s=

Die neue Version 0.03 erlaubt den Download aller geloggten Kontakte z.B. als=

report-22-04-2003.pdf und enth=E4lt sogar links zur www.planespotting.net=20
Webseite. Wenn man dar=FCberhinaus report-22-04-2003.pdf beispielsweise mit=20
AcrobatReader5 =F6ffnet und auf die Bildchen klickt, =F6ffnet sich im Browse=
r das=20
zugeh=F6rige Foto des jeweiligen Flugzeugs mit weiteren Angaben. Version 0.0=

erlaubt nun auch direkte updates der Datenbank auf dem jeweiligen Server.=20
Wenn ihr z.B. f=FCr eine Flugnummer Abflugort und Ziel kennt, k=F6nnt ihr di=
es=20
der Datenbank eingeben. Das Resultat wird nach 5 Minuten f=FCr alle verf=FCg=
bar.=20
Ihr k=F6nnt euch mit bis zu 7 Servern gleichzeitig verbinden. F=FCnf Adresse=
n=20
inkl. der jeweiligen Ports sind schon voreingestellt. Die Software sollte=20
also auf Anhieb laufen sobald ihr auf "Connect" klickt. Nicht alle Server=20
sind rund um die Uhr online. Also durchprobieren. Es gibt sogar einen=20
einfachen Chat, der es Benutzern weltweit erlaubt direkt untereinander zu=20
kommunizieren. Im Men=FC wurde "Settings" hinzugef=FCgt. Dort kann man z.B.=20
einstellen wo und unter welchem Namen Logdateien sowie Bilder auf der=20
heimischen Platte abgelegt werden sollen.=20

Jene, die selbst einen Empf=E4nger ihr eigen nennen, werden sicher auf die=20
Server-Software von acarsd gespannt sein. Ich halte euch auf dem Laufenden.
