Hi Jeanie & All,
No, but you may find that sometimes it will "lock" your computer if you 
try a restart after an "X" shutdown, so then a reboot is necessary.

As your original question was about volume settings I have had no 
problems with this over the range 30% - 80%, the output from my RX is 
350mv (record out socket), however play around with the "treble" & "bass" 
settings. My best responses have been with treble 75-90% and bass lower 
than 40%.
