hi all
just to update you on what's going on.
the list has been off moderation for two days now. post have been way down
BUT:) quality has been up 100%. thanks to all who posted and I invite the
other 300 on the list to join in.
it's nice to see information exchanged again. as you see I don't care how
big the list is or (to a degree) how many post there are but the quality of
the post and information. and as it was when I took over 3 years ago I tried
to leave the list as it was before I took over (same rules) and just for the
most part let everyone in the community just run it self through the post.
well as you see I will take control if I have to. but prefer not. I've
always dreamed of having the biggest most active list but I'm happier having
a smaller and higher quality list.
last thing what happened about 1 month ago (and I will guarantee it will
never happen again) resulted in terry band from the list I had one person
say he felt I was to hard on him.
so being the community we are and feeling bad about having to do it but at
the same time realizing the #1 rule on this list was broken. what to do ,
what to do. so I'm asking the list to vote. please respond with a email with
just a 1,2,3, at the address below (not on list please) you can also e-mail
me at that address with comments, suggestions, etc.
terry did send me a big sorry letter. in my reply here is what I told him I
would decided between.
1 the ban stays.
2 I would allow him the digest to read the list but not post.
3 I would allow him to come back to the list possibly keeping him on
moderation for a time
if you pick 3 and think moderation is in order please respond with 3 , how
long he should stay moderated for I.E. 3, 2 weeks.

thanks to all great to have the list back on track to what it was a few
years ago lets please keep it growing in the direction it's going the past
month as before I encourage logs and all acars topics as long as they stay
on a informational and impersonal level. disagreement can be a good and
positive tool. and to program venders and web site owners I've always
allowed you to post updates to programs and web sites. I will continue to do
this to venders theirs a price I don't mind discussions about the different
programs both the good and not so good. that info is valuable to all of us,
and venders are welcome to respond as long as everyone keeps it
informational and impersonal. but at this time all suggestions about the
websites / venders operation be kept off list that's not where here for.
Thanks
