Hi All,
Has anyone succeeded or even tried to transfer DDE stuff across a network?
I would like to have one computer decoding and another displaying the DDE
data. According to a number of web sources this can be done with tools
available within MS operating systems, namely netdde.exe which resides in
the Win98 directory and the NETDDE service in NT, 2000 and XP. Setting up a
"DDE share" is rlatively simple with XP (and I assume so with NT and 2000)
and there is a ddeshare.exe shareware program for Win9x systems.
I had a go at this last night setting up PCHFDL on my XP machine, creating
the share and running netdde.exe on my Win98 machine and opening up Airnav
to see if it saw the DDE from PCHFDL. Unfortunately it didn't.
Now I am no programmer and am not too sure of the actual application
settings for DDE activity. But I thought this would be a neat feature for
thos of us who have home networks or want to provide the data across the
internet.
If anyone has a solution or sees the need or can help I would appreciate an
email.
Regards
Mike Jackson
