Hi All,
Having run parallel systems for a couple of days it appears that the =
system speeds and configuration go a long way to the success of linking =
PCHFDL to Airnav4 via the DDE link.
I set up two computers:
Pentium II 300 MHz with Win98, and
Pentium 4 1.6 GHz with WinXP
The P II had real trouble keeping up with the DDE link even though there =
was only at best 2 reports to transfer in any 60 second period. The DDE =
would lock up as soon as the programs were started and needed to be =
'kicked' into life by deselecting and reselecting PCHFDL DDE link in =
Airnav4 and then only one or two reports would get transferred.
The P 4 on the other hand had no such problems with handling the DDE =
link. As soon as PCHFDL intercepted and decoded the report, it was =
immediately flashed to Airnav4 and displayed either as an ACARS report =
or as a position report on the map.
I hop this helps those who are having similar problems.
Charles/Andre: Is there anything you can do here or is it aging =
technology on the part of older CPU's and OSs'?
Regards
Mike Jackson
