[ACARS] Multiple Scanners

Hello Colin,
all you need is a cheap antenna splitter, preferably a matched one so =
that there is 50 Ohm in each port of the splitter. I have used it =
successfully with ACARS. As long as you do not scan but only use one =
frequency (as you do) you should not get any interference from the two =
scanners. Sometimes it happens that when you scan the local =
oscillator(s) of one scanner is heard from the other scanner.=20
The splitter can be bought e.g., from the store that sells satellite TV =
"stuff", it should not cost more than some =A34.00. As the signal is =
split, you will loose some 3+ dB unless there is amplification in the =
splitter. With a non-matched one you will loose more.
Very often the connectors are F-type, so you may need to have three =
adaptors to make it BNC compatible. Inthe end these adaptors cost more =
than the splitter...
With regards,
Sami
