hi to all
traffic on the list is picking up that's great keep it up.
what is stripmime??
you will note a report on the bottom of some of the posts that starts with
stripmime report
this is a program running at qth.net that strips any html/malti part mime
from posts of folks that forget to change to plain text thus allowing the
plain text post to make it through and take out the mime portion in the past
the post would bounce. it still will bounce attachments.
STATE OF QSL,QTH.NET
as you know after SEP.11 most cash flow in the world started to take a hurt.
because of this qsl,qth.net lost two major contributors. with this Al has
asked for donations to help keep things running. by his estimates if
everyone contributed $1.00 (this is from all qth list not just this one)
this system would be able to run a few years. at this point contributions
from "staff" and list users = to about 8 months. some breathing room but not
much. how to contribute will be posted at bottom. as some of you noted the
mail from slowed down from when you would send to post time than it came
back to normal speed. this was because the t3 line the system runs on was
running at 105% capacity. Al has added a new server and a extra t1 line to
correct this at out of his pocket. it's upgrades like this and to keep this
service running that your donations help with. I usually don't post a
request like this on the list but at the same time he usually dose not ask.
I encourage post about decoding tips and tricks, programming, freq info and
changes, and yes logs (I heard the groan for some of you) :) this list use
to hop it went to a slow walk it's up to all of you to participate and get
it hopping thanks for all who post on a regular basis and hope to hear from
the rest of you soon.
