G'day troops,
I happened to spot this msg in my log for today (17th):
ACARS mode: E Aircraft reg: .G-BNLX
Message label: B1 Block id: 1 Msg. no: M07A
Flight id: BA0223
Message content:-
/YQXXRAC.OC1/RCL 024
BAW223-DOGAL/1604 M085F360
-RMK/MAX FL3804141
-------------------------------------[17/12/2002 15:04]
OK, so it's an Oceanic Clearance Request message; you don't need to have the
brains of Einstein or the wisdom of Solomon to work that one out :-)
What is unique is the address in the first line of the message content.
Normally Westbound clearance msgs are addressed to PIKCLXS, but this one
seems to have been sent to Gander/YQXX instead of Prestwick. Would something
like this screw the system up completely, or would the flightdeck crew just
get an error msg explaining what they've done wrong, and why? Just curious
:-)
Rgds
Dick
