[80m] Pirate Using N0JR's Call

Hi All,
Many tks to Johnny, KG4WPW and Chuck, K8CPA for letting me know there
was a pirate causing intentional interference with rtty/psk on 3.902
and perhaps other freqs. Sat. eve. using my call. I've responded to
Johnny and Chuck, but thought I'd subscribe to this list and let the
facts be wider known.

I haven't operated on 80m at least since 2005, and have no antenna for
the band. In all my years as a ham I've never used digital modes anywhere
on 80m. And when the interference occurred I was having dinner at a
local restaurant with my wife and friends from the University, then
attending a symphony concert at the University with same folks. I
learned about the interference when I returned home after 9:30. I didn't
even turn on the rig after 4:15 Sat., and nobody else had access to it.

Pse read my biog. on qrz.com and decide for yourself whether I seem like
someone who would engage in that sort of cowardly and despicable behavior--
after nearly 53 years as a ham!

Two observations. (1) I don't recall ever hearing of anyone causing
intentional interference on the HF bands while using his own call!
There can't
be many hams out there who are that stupid, and I'm not one of them. (2)
More HF intentional interference occurs on Friday and Saturday
evenings than any other time. The reason, of course, is alcohol.

Anyway, tks for not jumping to unwarranted conclusions about who was
causing the interference. I'm sad to say that if you ever hear
my call on 80m, at any time or on any mode, you can be certain it isn't me.
