Don't quit...I've had a ball reading the "Beacon Tribunes." I haven't been
able to copy the beacon out here in Iowa on the four square but have enjoyed
it nevertheless.

I'm starting to get a lot of complaints, free advice and free education.
As soon as those outnumber the positive notes, I'll quit. I think this is
a fun and enlightening aspect of the hobby... oh well...

Last night's code word was STROUD. Seven stations copied the 5mW beacon
transmitting on 7.0315 MHz. One in the UK, G3ROO, Ian, almost heard it!

Summary:

W2JJ, JIM NJ FN33ac 103.7mi 539 TS830/25' vertical
W3GH, Bob PA FN00en 307.9mi 559
G3R00, Ian UK way far away no solid copy IC7800/quad loop & 1/4
vertical - Ian is the author of "Practical and Tested Aerial Systems"
www.g3roo.org.uk - Great book by the way. A must for every ham's bookshelf.
VE3OSZ, Steve, ON FN25di 274.7mi 449 TR7/Beverage
K4XS, Bill FL EL88pf 1049.3mi (209,860 mi/W) 429 FT1000/4
el KLM
W4ZV, Bill, NC EM95uk 548.7mi 549 Orion/Beverage
AA4XX Paul NC FM05qr 480mi 339 Sierra/2 el wire beam

Beacon will run at 20mW (let's see if Ian can dig it out) 7.0235 MHz
starting now and running all through SKN.

Happy Listening, Happy New Year, 73
N2XE
