Replace the electrolytic capacitors near the two large resistors in
the power supply. It's 3 or 4
caps. Its been so long since I did mine I have forgotten .You will see
them near the resistors and
its the heat from those resistors that have dried them out. I would
sugest you replace them as soon
as possible before the power supply is permanently damaged . Some will
pop like a firecracker
and blow the AC fuse. That is terminal many times. Not all parts are
identifyable, as whoever
built the power supply for Yaesu used their proprietory system to
identify them. I have repaired
several for friends so its easy.
"IF" I remember correctly you need a 470 mfd, 220 mfd, 56 mfd, and a 1
mfd. . Pay attention
to the working voltage marked on them and if size permits go a little
larger. Try to bend the
leads on the two large power resistors and move them as far away from
other components and
above the circuit board as possible.
I do have a schematic (poor one from Yaesu) and a partial parts list. I
can send copies to you
if necessary. Good Luck
