My question is, have any of you, or do you know of anyone who has tackled
a similar project? I am also looking for suggestions on mast head antenna
switching and recommendations for pre-amps.
Hi Mike:
I Have 432, 1296 and a bunch of mw stuff( 2.3, 5.7, 10g, 24 g) with 144 IF.
All amps are on tower (power and preamps and T/R relays))
I run one run of 200 ft of cheap coax with a Comet Triplexer on each end.
The Triplexers automatically switch 144, 432 and 1296
Advantage: one coax, no loss (amps on tower) - especially great if your going
MW, automatic switching at shack and Tower (switching still required to
switch power amps and preamps in and out)
Disadvantage: Have to climb tower to work on amps.
I do the same scenario for 50, 144, 222, 903 on another tower with a combo of
triplexers/diplexers
Both towers are crank ups ( thats my lightening solution)
Regards,
Bob
