OK, Ike, my cw beacon is running. It goes for 43 second, then it starts again 17 seconds later, ad infinitum, hi hi.

It is on 474.2 kHz, within a couple of hertz.  I will run it until sometime late morning on Saturday. Then I will put my loading coil for this band back at the base of the inverted LV and start the beacon up again.

Hope you can receive it either tonight, or it might be stronger before sunrise even.

Neil,

I'll begin monitoring around 4:45pm and let you know if and when I'm able to hear the beacon. With the weekend coming up I'll probably not monitor later than about 8:00pm tonight, but will check again tomorrow evening and thereafter. Sometimes I'm in the shack well before sunrise, so will check also in the mornings.

Now and then I catch NJD at 474.5 or so, but seldom have I ever heard beacons below 475. So if there's a beacon that I'm hearing close to 474, it pretty much has to be you.....KW7T

My plan for tonight is to put out a cw beacon on 474.2 to see if Ike, KW7T can copy it. If so, we will eventually set up for a cw qso.

Here is the wspr reception I decoded on MF wspr this session; I was TXing at 50% which covered up a lot of possible decodes ...

I will also be weather proofing my base loading coil so that I can leave it connected.
