Hi Neil,

I have a couple of Wellbrook loops and have good results on 137 and 472 kHz. I use a Wellbrook 1530LNP at my QTH west of Boston, it's mounted about 10 feet off the ground on some military masting on a TV rotator about 100 feet from the house.  My Wellbrook in Maine in a 1530LN, perhaps 75 feet from the house on an aluminum tripod about 4 feet above ground. Both give good results on LF and MF. I suspect that your problem with the Wellbrook is that it's mounted inside the house?  I'm guessing that you have antenna restrictions, perhaps you are in a condo that doesn't allow outdoor antennas at all. Can you put the antenna in the attic? I can't think of a clever way of disguising a loop like the way you might have a vertical in a flagpole.

Keep us posted on your experiments!

GM all.
I tried the Wellbrook active loop this session on 630m (LMF) but got no wspr decodes. I put it at the same level next to my wall near my LOTW antenna [the LOTW was detuned for this test].

This morning before 6 am I switched back to my LOTW and picked up N6LF's wspr at 6:14 am. [Thanks for being there Rudy!]

I am wondering if W loops need to be elevated just like the Eprobe active whips ??

More experiments to follow....
