I know I am way behind on replies! I appreciate every comment that has
been received in response to my RFI problems. Thanks everyone!
I have that filter on the way for the refrigerator. I will let the group
know how it goes with that.
Meanwhile I made a discovery on another major source of RFI. I realized
it was not only changing in amplitude when I turn certain lights and
circuits on and off at the far end of the house (less RFI when things
are ON) but also changing in frequency with changes in temperature in my
home. I verified by turning the heat up and down. No doubt about it, it
responds every time. That suggested the source is in my home and the
only room I hadn't been able to power down was the ham shack. So I
started testing things in here by warming them with a heat source. Most
did not respond but when I injected warm air into the shack computer I
got a very strong positive response. So it appears the source of that
RFI is the computer. Not good, as I cannot run LF/MF without it.
Hopefully the fact that lights and electrical loads at the other end of
the house affect the level means it is getting out primarily through the
computer power cord into electrical wiring and radiating from there. If
so, there is hope that another line filter might help. Alternatively,
perhaps replacing the computer power supply might help but that is a
real crap shoot as so many of them are noisy.
There are other sources as well. This may be a long road.
