I'll be leaving tomorrow evening (Fri) between 11PM and midnight. After
a few stops along the way and visiting with some local RI hams at an
open house event Saturday morning (World AR Day), I hope to be at the
state park at 1PM sharp (earliest check-in). I'll proceed to get things
set up immediately and hopefully won't run into any issues. I am taking
an extra amplifier just in case, but also have provisions to do some
field repairs if necessary.
Over this past week, I built a 7ft diamond, multi-turn RX loop. It
seemed to play well with the limited testing I was able to do and I hope
it may be useful should the QRN (or local QRM) levels be excessive.
I expect to be fully QRV around sunset Saturday (19th) evening and
operate through sunrise, and then back on at sunset Sunday evening and
operate through sunrise Monday (21) morning:
RI Sunrise: 1000Z
RI Sunset: 2330Z
I will upload logs to LoTW (preferred QSL method) each morning as long
as there are no issues. I also have some W1R cards printed -- QSL w/
SASE via NO3M. While the majority of operating will be via FST4-60, I
may operate some CW if conditions allow.
I will also be monitoring the Slack "khz-chat" discussion room.
Looking forward to working all of you from this new activation!!
