Hello Neil,

how did you determine the radiation resistance?

and ... just a detail, but the measured current seems a bit low.

For 8 Watt into 225 Ohm the current should be I = sqrt(P/R) = sqrt(8/225) = sqrt(0.3556) = 0.189 A

Can be the amp meter not accurate and/or the TX power overestimated.

But at the end, all what counts is that the radiated signal is going up. Congrats on that!

Try even more wire?

I have made some new measurements on my power and antenna for 630m. I am getting the following:

Total system Rt = 225 ohms
Radiation resistance Rr = ~.032 ohms
Total current measured at the top of the loading coil = 0.125 amperes

TPO = 8.0 watts into the coax
EIRP = ~1.5 mW which is 10 dB better than what I was doing previously according to today's ground wave comparisons with ka7oei-1 and ka7oei. Thus, my previous power must have been about 0.15 mW which I could not report correctly previously using wsjtx. This is because zero dBm = 1 mW is the lowest choice in that software.

Wondering if any of this makes sense to any of you !!!
Helpful comments are welcome.

Thanks,
