[600MRG] Improved propagation here in North Texas

It was a better night and morning compared to the previous session
here in North Texas.

N9RU was heard and worked on CW during the early evening (0112z)... We
were not forced out by QSB. I never heard W3TS during this time
frame, however.

W8JI was heard on 473.2-ish a few minutes later so I jumped down there
and called him but it seems that we were at the end of the peak as he
headed into the noise pretty quickly here in spite of reporting me
579. I had some local neighborhood noise that I could not resolve at
the time AND the rotatable RX loop seemed to get worse as I moved it
to GA making me wonder if the signal was not coming as directly as one
would expect. Something to watch in the coming sessions I guess.

This morning N9RU had a booming signal and any QSB that was present
was not very deep at all. Like the evening, the short hop seemed to
dominate and we were not subject to QSB although 10 minutes after we
finished up, Tom's CQ's were considerably weaker than during our QSO.
That situations resolved itself a few minutes later, however, and I
think he was pretty much strong until I quite around 1115z.

W3TS made a nice "in the clear" appearance on a brief peak that we had
both been waiting out. This QSO was completed while awaiting a peak
with N2VJ. The peak was brief and just not enough as I could not get
the first number over the air. We called it before it was completed
but it was a fun battle and nice to have Jamie on in the morning.

Come join us for some morning enrichment in the noise. Its not all
CW, in fact NV4X is usually on looking for FST4 QSO's with a few
others... The patterns are very different from what they were just a
few months back so many of us are having to figure out what works and
what doesn't as far as 472 prop is concerned. Is a brave, new world
as we see more sunspots and higher SFI numbers...

73,

John..
