A new station decoded my 630m WSPR peanut whistle overnight, W7LUX near Flagstaff AZ at 405 miles!
Earlier KM5SW in NM decoded me at the very limit of capture. Paul is about 480 miles from me. Paul has a K9AY loop, 80 ft tall and pointed NW.

My antenna is sooo inefficient that my 5w TPO is lucky to produce more than about 1 mW of EIRP. ( I will try to take more measurements today to see if I can confirm my EIRP)

The TX antenna is a base loaded inverted L whose top wire lays on the roof shingles and goes over an 18 ft peak and down the other side. The top wire is only 30 ft long and the vertical part is only 10 ft. The shingles alter the wire's capacitance which becomes about 140 pf rather than the much lower open-air wire predicted value.

My 'ATU' is simply a parallel tuned tank circuit with taps at the bottom, one tap to the coax, and one back to the output of the IRF 510 FET amplifier. It brings my SWR down to 1.1:1 going into the coax. I am surprised at how well it works.

Thanks and kudos to all who are hearing me. Much appreciated!
