Overnight, some showers from the coast moved northward over SC and in to us here in the mountains of western NC. I had a nice QSO on FST4 with WB4JWM, with good signal reports in each direction, which tells me that I've got things pretty well dialed in, except for the receive filter problem trying to notch out the local NDB.
After our QSO, I went to WSPR, but backed off my transmit percentage to 15% to avoid overheating N1DAY's front end :-) My SWR, as measured in the shack, was about 1.03:1, which still amazes me; technicall my 52 Ohm Waters 334A Dummy Load, that I've had since I was a Novice in 1968, would be 1.04:1 :-)
I heard 11 uniques across 293 spots over the next 12 hours, with best DX being KE7A at 1373km.I was heard by 48 uniques across 450 spots, with the best being N6GN/K at 2075km.
If the rain subsides as expected late this afternoon, I'll double check the antenna and look for more QSOs tonight.
