Neil,
After reading your various posts over the past couple of weeks about your loop antennas, I'm wonderingif part of your issues are being caused by stuff in the wall that you're mounting the antenna(s).
I'm not a contractor or a construction engineer, but I wonder if your building uses metal studs to mount the wallboardinstead of wood, or if the 'house wiring' - e.g. ordinary 117VAC or telephone or cable TV or Ethernet, etc. - is causingthe problems. I'm assuming it's a fairly modern structure that uses wallboard, so there might not be metal screeningsupporting plaster, but it's also possible that there is galvanized steel trim used to reinforce the corners of various walls.
I have a similar problem in my home in Florida - a few years ago, it was re-roofed with concrete tiles to comply with theupdated post-Andrew building codes, and the roofers added an inverted-omega shaped galvanized steel ridgepole oneach roof peak. Had I know that they were going to do that, I'd have snuck up there and attached a hidden wire to itat one end before they sealed up the end caps with concrete. (Can't do it now without destroying the weatherproofing).
Anyway, just a thought...

GM all. I tried the Wellbrook active loop this session on 630m (LMF) but got no wspr decodes. I put it at the same level next to my wall near my LOTW antenna [the LOTW was detuned for this test].
This morning before 6 am I switched back to my LOTW and picked up N6LF's wspr at 6:14 am. [Thanks for being there Rudy!]
I am wondering if W loops need to be elevated just like the Eprobe active whips ??
More experiments to follow....
