Current modes in use:
Beaconing, mostly continues with WSPR. FST4W has met with a lot of
resistance for various reasons, including some hardware platforms in
which the firmware still only supports WSPR and the majority of
receiving stations are still only monitoring WSPR. What stations have
used FST4W, the choice of T/R period is generally either 120 or 300.
Always hard to tell who is where when... running multiple instances to
watch the various modes/variants helps.
For QSO modes, FST4-60 dominates for domestic activity, with some
FST4-120. FST4-120 is the mode of choice for DX operation, ie. NA to
EU. Same dial frequency (474.2 USB) as used for WSPR/FST4W but between
1000 - 1400 Hz audio is typical for either 60 or 120 sec modes. JT9 is
dead by all practical measures. Most don't go below 1000Hz because of
the brain-dead beacon that runs just below 1000Hz. Shorter modes
(fst4-30) only seem to pop up when guys are bored.
CW... anywhere below and including 474.5. 474.5 is a popular calling
frequency, but regardless of where you call CQ, you'll probably get
picked up if there are warm bodies near a receiver... someone will
mention your call/freq in slack chat and then a pileup like you're some
rare DX... well, not quite, but you get the idea!
SSB also shows up periodically on 476.0 USB, mostly western stations
(CO, CA).
Gedas, you already have a Slack chat user login. No idea how you can
recover the login information / password if needed, try sending KB5NJD
an Email for assistance.
