Thanks all, and more food for thought.. This question is related to a
storm which we recently endured.. The litz loop was lost so a
resurrected 50' vertical is fed with a somewhat unorthodox feed but it
works fine, still just one piece of wire and one tuning cap... Also,
the beverage works fine on RX but I can't steer it, so am using 80m
Windom for the noise antenna..
The so called drifting noise carrier and it's upper sidebands only
bother me @ 475.7 RX so putting a notch there didn't help..
Long story ( question ) short; what is the gain or _*loss*_ of a 50'
vertical @ 475 khz.?? Works wunnerful on 160/80!! OY!!
So that is .025 wave length @ 475K, 1970' full wave..
TNX all, from DaveR @ aa1a
