Greetings all,

This coming Friday and Saturday, June 7 and June 8, is Hamcom here in
the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Details at
https://sites.google.com/hamcom.org/ham-com

I'll be presenting two sessions of an hour and fifty minutes each on
Friday (1pm - 2:50pm) and Saturday (9am - 10:50am) on the topic of
630m and 2200m. The sessions will consist of a sampling of the
previous years activities and accomplishments on both bands and will
transition in the second half to a discussion and Q&A of common
transmit antennas, including some of the practical steps to
implementing an effective antenna and getting some numbers on paper to
represent your EIRP.

I will perform a demo showing how to resonate and match a short
vertical antenna using a variometer and ferrite transformer and will
have a few "bucket" variometers of the same design available for
purchase for $30, which is well under my cost.

While there will be a few images, this won't be a slide show
presentation. It's intended to be an organic discussion, even a
dialogue in a perfect world. While I do have a number of agenda items
I would like to spend some time on, nothing would make me happier than
to have a room full of questions to address that lead to getting new
operators on the air.

If you are in the area, do stop in and say hi.

73!

John Langridge KB5NJD

PS: There will be no daily report on my blog on Friday or Saturday
but I will mop up any high value details that were missed on Sunday's
report.
