MF/LF Gang,

My experimental beaconing of SlowJT9 in JT9-5 and '2 modes has concluded. It was nice to see simultaneous decodes of my JT9-5 last evening at KL7L (AK) and K3MF (E.PA), both at levels beyond what regular JT9 would have been able to accomplish. I was running about 1.25 watts of EIRP from my Vancouver, WA QTH, using a 45 ft vertical with about 80 ft of top loading.

The slow JT9 modes do have merit, when conditions are not as favorable on regular JT9-1. These slower modes make it possible for those with lower power or those who are 'antenna challenged' to have QSO's. JT9-5 is decodable down to -34 dB s/n.

Thanks to all who watched for my signal and/or sent reports. I will continue to monitor JT9-5, 2, 1 and wspr whenever possible.
