WA2XRM was operating at 0001Z, 1 Jan 2019 on 479.700 kHz, CW.
There was still some QRN down in the Southwest USA but I had a few SWL receptions to the North.
Reports came from KD0VBR, Tom, Golden, CO;
N6GN, Glenn, Ft. Collins, CO; and from KK7UV, Steve in MT.
After 0500z, W0RW took over on 473 kHz to look for any calls.
Nothing was heard but VE6JY and VE6WZ gave good reports on the RBN.
The RBN's didn't record WA2XRM because they don't receive any thing above 479.0 kHz.
More reports my come in later.
The temperature dropped to +10F and I had to retune the antenna (30 foot vertical).
As it got colder the antenna Q dropped resulting in a broad resonance at 473 kHz.
The SWR went up and I had to shorten my transmission times
to keep the transmitter on the air
KB5NJD, John, has a good article in CQ magazine this month,
Jan. 2019.
