[600MRG] WSPR finally working here

Hi,

I made several attempts to log WSPR transmissions in the past. They all
failed. I am not currently active on the 630 meter band but that is a
matter of some time to make a place for the receiver to live and doing it.

I was interested in finding out about FT-8 so I downloaded and installed
the software package for that in the native Linux tongue. I hooked it up
with my nearly 50 year old receiver and got a taste. I don't care about
it for making QSOs but I quickly got a picture of where the 20 and 40
meter bands might be open:)

Last night I noticed that WSPR was included in that native Linux package
and I gave that a try too. Right away I started logging stations! I
think the only difference now from past efforts is the native Linux
support. I might post some of the logs but I have to see if there is an
accommodation for warning other users not to expect the frequencies
reported to be suitable for the frequency measurement contest:) My use
will be looking at antenna patterns and propagation from my back yard. I
expect to not transmit WSPR or FT-8, 9, or 10 <evil grin>.

73,

Bill KU8H
