I dunno, but having the 630 mod all contained within the IC735 box sounds like a better way to go for me.Having all kinds of I/O wires between boxes conjures up images of Heatkits!

I'm sure that the 735 is similar to the 706 in that all you have to do 
in order to reduce power output to the mixer input level is to cut the 
B+ to the 735 final...
Then when you return from transmit to receive the gain is all there ( no 
attenuator needed )...

Nothing ruined, returning to normal = one resoldered joint...  Try to 
make things simple...  It's all there anyway...

The whole application works from VLF, to 10ghz, to laser light.... A 735 
for ALL bands...
