[600MRG] Calculating ...things...

I don't know if anyone else here has even heard of this, but there is, or was, a ham
VE3ERP, who published an extremely extensive set of GW-Basic programs for hams.
He called this collection, HamCalc, and almost continuously updated it. Be aware that there
is, or was, another set of programs having the identical name which are NOT very good.
VE3ERP complained about this, but there was, essentially, nothing he could do about it.
Some time ago, I downloaded his set and installed it on my old shack computer which at
that time was running Windows XP-Pro SP-3.
I have that shack computer set up so I can boot into any of three operating systems, 1)
XP-Pro, 2) Win 10, and 3) a Unix desktop.
I use Win10 mostly, since, of course, most modern software requires it.
However, I also use some old programs which will not run in Win 10, but will run in XP-Pro.
Thus I keep it handy.
Over the past couple of days, I have been using VE3ERP's programs to calculate several
parameters and the results appear to be very good.
For instance, I am modifying an old SB-200 for use on 160 meters, with the view to
eventually use it also on 630 meters, as "some" here have done.
Calculating required final tank coil and capacitor parameters, Pi-Net parameters, and other
necessary calculations take seconds with this set of programs, and the output appears to be
very accurate.
I have also used it in the past to caluclate the required base inductance for my base-loaded
vertical for use on 630 meters, AND the necessary physical coil parameters.
Comparing the output of this set of programs with those given to us by Rudy, the results are
almost identical....much to my amazement.
If anyone here might be interested in using this set of programs, you can find them here:

It shows that the call VE3ERP is George Murphy, but QRZ.com shows that call as now
being held by Mark Ellison who is living in the same town as George...was.
