FWIW:

Some interesting facts about sunsets and sunrises that I was not aware of:

Altho winter begins early on Friday morning in the USA and is the shortest daylight of the year, the earliest sunset times for Portland Oregon (for example) fall around December 10th while the latest sunrises fall near January 1st or 2nd.

Not what I suspected....
