Hello 630m enthusiasts. This is w0yse.
I believe modes like JT9-2 (and slower modes) are important QSO options for our 2200m and 630m bands. SlowJT9, which is being developed as an offshoot of Joe Taylor’s early work on these modes, is in need of Hams and SWL’s who would be able to give feedback to Rik, (ON7T, ON7YD) who is adapting the program for use on our new bands.
Rik is in need of debug files from the latest version of SLOWJT9 from anyone who is able to get it running on their Windows operating systems. Here are some instructions I adapted from what Rik posted earlier on installing SlowJT9:
In order to use SlowJT9 version 0.9.12.1 for those who already have version 0.9.11 or 0.9.10 (not earlier versions):
1. Close SlowJT9 (if running).
2. Right click on the shortcut and select “OPEN FILE LOCATION” and create a temporary folder there.
3. Download the zipped SlowJT9.exe from http://www.472khz.org/SlowJT9/SlowJT9_v0.9.12.1.zip and unzip it in the temporary folder.
4. In the directory where your current version is installed (by default c:\SlowJT9): replace the existing SlowJT9.exe (from version 0.9.11 or 0.9.10) with the one you just unzipped (which is version 0.9.12.1).
5. Launch SlowJT9 from the desktop shortcut. Now version 0.9.12.1 should run.”
This version of SlowJT9 will decode JT9-2 up to the bottom edge of the WSPR band on 630m. Previous versions did not decode much above 1250 hertz offset.
Let me know if you have problems with these instruction. I hope they work ok.
Thanx & 73
