630m gang,

About my recent frequency change on WSQCALL, I am using the new version 2.00. The new version has three fixed offsets and has buttons for the “call” frequency (1500 hz), and an “up 200” and a “down 200” button to QSY for a QSO's. So, last night I was using a dial frequency of 474.2 kHz and transmitting on the "up 200" button which put me at +1700 hz (i.e. 200 hz above the center of the wspr band). I know that this is not a good spot for those of you that have a lot of 630m activity in your areas, but the program can be used at other dial settings way above the JT9 and WSPR areas as well.

For now, it will be good to promote WSQ activity by using the "+1700" spot for those who have only one radio and want to stay at 474.2 on their dial.

The other area of the band that could be used for WSQ is 476.55 (usb Dial) which puts the call frequency at 478.05 which will keep us below the place where OPERA hangs out.

Here is a link to the new version that Murray is allowing us to use, but it is not a full release yet. The program is pretty much done at this point but the help files need to be updated for the new features. Thus there is no support for those new features until the official release of v2.00. (i.e I request that we don't bug Con or Murray until they release it officially....just MY thoughts ). The help files from the previous versions are still useful for all but the newest features.

I will be on 474.2 +1700 again tonight (after guests leave) and be 'sounding' every 10 minutes.

.......experiments continue...thanks for supporting my experimentation with WSQ.

Thanks to all listeners and check-ins.
