This is an update on my WSQCall results on our two MF bands.
On the morning of April 25, I got a partial decode of VK4YB’s sounding message on 630m. Roger confirmed it in an email message to me later that evening. He said that he was indeed transmitting at that time, and that I had copied at least 5 correct characters in a row. The probability of that being a random chance turns out to be less than 1 in over 45 million.
I have been receiving regular reports on my 630m WSQ soundings from KR7O in central California, W7ALN in SE Oregon, VE7BDQ and VE7VV in BC, W7WKR in NW WA and, up until recently, KL7L near Anchorage.
Thinking back over the past couple of months I recall receiving reports from KU4XR in TN, KA7OEI and KU7Z, both in Utah (and I may have left out 1 or 2 others).
The past two nights I was sounding WSQCall on 160m as well, but only received reports from John VE7BDQ. I received 34 WSQ decodes of John on 160m compared to his 12 on 630m, both on the same night. Of course the 160m decodes were at a much stronger signal level as is usually the case.
I will probably continue sounding WSQCall on both bands for while. My dial QRG’s are 475.2 and 1834.5 kHz, which puts my actual RF at 476.7 and 1836.0 respectively.
Hoping to hear from more stations on either band.
Thanks to all who might listen and report.
