[600MRG] 47CFR Part5 Renewals

Good question Frank, and one that I have been contemplating myself.

I had originally wanted to study trans-Atlantic propagation at
2200m, taking advantage of relatively high ERP to see more of the
QSB cycle.

My Part 5 license only covers the frequencies which have now been
allocated to the amateur service. FCC said they expect us to switch
to Part 97 operation and not use Part 5 licenses to get around the
rules, so that effectively discourages my proposed operation. I had
thought about modifying the license to include frequencies outside
the amateur bands but then the issue becomes too few people listening.

So in my case I guess I don't see any advantage in renewing or
modifying the Part 5 license.
