[600MRG] Experiencing a wierd BCB interference recently

Hi Andy.

Any nearby diode rectification can cause cross modulation.

The closer you are to the BC station the worse it can be.

It can be caused by a dissimilar metal contact, a guy wire to tower connection, etc.

The dissimilar metal becomes a diode which reradiates the BC station.

My PRC319 (military backpack radio) has input protection diodes on the front end to prevent over load,

when I attach a long wire to it, it does a great job of

reradiating the BC band. It causes BC noise on all my other LF radios.

Any long wire with a diode at the end will do it.

A power line can do it.

You should be able to DF it with a small transistor BC radio.

If you find a suspect connection just clean the wires/connection really good and add a clean jumper.

This is could be a Sherlock investigation.
