Interesting point about SDR IMD....and this was noted too by Gerald of Flexradio sevetal years back....

One factor which can limit the IMD performance of an A-to-D converter is the IP3 of the ferrite balun xfmr that is used on the RF input of the converter. Dynamic range from bits alone is not always the limiting factor. Things do get very interesting when you get over 120dB of dynamic range in play.

Consider this too.....a typical 2m FM repeater running full duplex into an antenna has signals which are 170dB apart. (+50dBm of TX power vs. -120dBm of weak signal RX)
