[600MRG] WSQ help

Here what I have seen has been mostly at tone = 2500 Hz with dial freq
0.4742 MHz.  But I did see/work one station at tone = 1000 Hz.

You can monitor WSQ at the same time as the other modes.  I do this
using a Hermes SDR with PowerSDR software as follows:

Dial freq 0.4742 kHz
One instance WSJTX for WSPR on radio slice 1
One instance WSJTX for JT9 on radio slice 2
WSQ German version for WSQ also on radio slice 2, with lowest tone set
to 2500, waterfall limits set to 2400 and 2600 Hz (done in Setup).
If you use RTS (or DTR) for PTT for WSQ2 and CAT for WSJTX then you can
switch back and forth between transmitting on WSQ and transmitting on
JT9 without needing to reconfigure anything.  That is what I do here.

For this application I use Voicemeeter Banana as my virtual audio cable
for output from slice 2 from PowerSDR instead of VAC, as this allows me
to run up to 3 outputs. So I can do one output from PowerSDR to
WSJTX-JT9, one to WSQ2 German version, and one to headphones.  I don't
actually run one to headphones, because I am doing this remotely.
Voicemeeter Banana ALSO allows one to send the audio over the network,
and I send the receive audio from this slice over the Ethernet to my
remote location to another instance of Voicemeeter Banana, which I use
there to drive a pair of wireless headphones and another instance of
WSQ.  The equivalent of multiple outputs from PowerSDR is also possible
using VAC with its Audio Repeater facility, but this doesn't give you
network audio.  I've been a VAC fan for many years and still am, but I
really like Voicemeeter Banana for this application.

Once the sun sets, there is pretty frequent "sounding" and also calling
CQ using WSQ by multiple stations that I copy here every night.  You
will see messages containing their calls (in all upper case letters
generally when they are sounding), followed by a colon and then often
something like "cb".

By the way, the varicode used by WSQ means that sending LOWER CASE
letters will take half the time as sending UPPERCASE letters. So its
best to avoid upper case.  This is demonstrated here:
