Dear 60-Meters Membership:
Its been several months since I accepted the Administrative functions of
the 60-Meters list and its now I feel I can no longer maintain this
responsibility. I've been a licensed Amateur Radio Operator since 1959
[high school days], have seen the evolution of the many new technologies
we currently enjoy in this great hobby and for me its time to move on to
another new hobby, scuba diving.
Yes, at my young age of 64 [as of yesterday] and looking forward to
retirement in 2009 with my present employer. I need to get into an
endeavor that over time will benefit not just me [health wise] but also
my wife of 31 years, who by the way, has never had an interest in Ham
Radio. So you can imagine two things here. Traveling around the world
with my wife and seeing the sites of a lifetime and at times, sharing
the underwater world amongst the varied marine life so abundant around
our planet.
Indeed I have many interests but Amateur Radio has been the predominant
and main hobby for almost 48 years with Photography a very close second.
There was a time that I thought I would get involved with general
aviation and get my private pilots license but, learning the ongoing
cost to fly. It was just too expensive for my not so deep pockets.
So as of today October 29th, 2007 I hereby release and turn over my
admin functions to the Mailman.Qth list owner and hope he will find a
replacement in the very near future.
Thanks to all current 60-Meters list members for your input and posts
over the many months and good luck in your future activities in Amateur
Radio.

PS: Over the coming weeks I will be selling much of my HF, VHF and UHF
Ham Radio equipment including several mobile pieces of gear and antennas
obviously to help pay for the scuba and underwater photography
equipment, to include several repeater components and subsystems. I will
create an inventory/for sale list today beginning October 29th of
everything I have. I should have this list completed by Friday November
2nd. If anyone desires to purchase what is on this list, please feel
free to _email me direct_ as soon as you have the time. Beginning
Saturday November 3rd I will then place everything on my list [excluding
any items already sold] onto the eBAY auction website and go from there.
This list BTW will include actual asking price of the item with shipping
charges via US Priority Mail for the continental United States. Anyone
living outside the U.S. who wishes to purchase a piece of equipment
obviously I will have to do some research on shipping charges to your
specific country. NOTE: every piece of Ham Radio equipment is in good
working order and I will include any power cables, mounting brackets,
microphones, associated instruction booklets where available. Everything
goes!!
