Message-ID: Hello! Well, the Es season may be fading away, but the chance to work a couple new DXCC on 6m is just around the corner! I have put a lot of effort and planning into the next 6m EME DXpedition. Please read all the tips and details on my DXpedition web page so you are ready to put a couple new DXCC into the log: http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/Palau%20and%20Yap%202016.htm If you have bee procrastinating getting set up for digital modes, or putting up that bigger 6m yagi, you still have 6 weeks left! Please make sure you use the JT65A mode in the most recent version of WSJT-10 (it uses the new, more sensitive, "FT" decoder)! I expect to have good ground gain on both moonset and moonrise from both DXCC. And and of course, I also will be elevating so I can match YOUR ground gain on YOUR moonset (Region 2) or moonrise (Region 1). If we did complete last summer from V6M, please just bask in your glory and let others do the calling, since my time there will be very limited, and I expect the pile of callers to be very deep ;-) If you have any questions during the DXpedition, please just ask the other operators on the ON4KST EME CHAT page: http://www.on4kst.org/chat/login.php?band=5 GL and MNI TNX for all your support! That did permit me to determine peak ground gain was about 13-15 degrees elevation. My single yagi does not have elevation and is 1 WL high. *Note reception was with K3 plus PR6 preamp at the shack thru 7/8-inch line to 6-element yagi; I have a ARR preamp going into a box at tower-top so that might make a slight improvement in NF. Looking at the common windows they are near end of US or beginning of EU window when you are at high elevation. All depends on my getting the amplifier ready in time. 73, Ed - KL7UW I will not be installing the 2nd 6m yagi with elevation until next year (too much else in progress this summer). I may be off 2m-eme for a couple months (est Aug-Sep) if we build a new 26x18 foot ham shack onto the garage which requires moving the shack and re-cabling everything. I should be able to maintain cables to dish and 6m tower during most of that process. What began as a 3 man effort earlier this summer has now become a 10 man effort, and all the operators are experienced DXpedition operators. CE5WQO Felipe has asked to look into gathering needed information and support for 6 meter EME. Your name came up as a source of information - would you be able to correspond with Felipe and WX5L Randy to help them with this effort? --- 73 Parker W5ADD
