Today, November 17, at 2205Z, I received final RRR from TY2AC. The Degradation was
-3.5 dB and the Kp was 3. We completed our JT65A contact via EME during his
moonset, despite high terrestrial ionization to his west. Signals were best when his
moon was around 5 or 6 degrees elevation, but there also may be good lower lobes when
the moon is setting out over the ocean at a time of day when there is no ionization
to the west-southwest. Nicolas reports that he has TEP every night on 6m, so the
best chance to work him on EME is when his moonset is in the early morning, when
there is no terrestrial propagation.

This is 6m DXCC #196 for me (#142 via 6m EME) and appears to be the first ever USA to
Benin contact on 6m. Thanks to Nicolas for his patience and ability to put yet
another rare African country on 6m EME! I have worked Nicolas on 6m EME from 5T5SN,
TJ3SN, TN5SN, and now TY3AC :-) GL and VY 73, Lance
