The FT450 is loaded with standard features that are options on many other rigs. The 450 has IF-DSP so there are no filters to buy for it. It has a built in CW memory keyer, a built in TCXO, a built in voice keyer (great for contesting) a built in voice synthesizer, and an excellent IF notch filter. This is just a great rig overall, but would like something with VHF/UHF on it as well. The FT450 comes with the MH-31 hand mic, which is an upgrade from the stock mic. This mic allows you to program the UP/DOWN/FAST keys to control different functions of the radio. It also has a power cord, and manual with it. I would sell it for $475 shipped. I can meet in SW Oklahoma or OKC for an in-person trade. 73 John AF5CC From af5cc2 at gmail.com Sat Nov 7 16:41:27 2015 From: af5cc2 at gmail.com (John Geiger) Date: Sat, 7 Nov 2015 15:41:27 -0600 Subject: [50mhz] FS: Icom 706 6m/2m transceiver (plus HF) Message-ID: I have for sale an Icom 706 original HF/6m/2m all mode radio in very good condition. This is the model that does 100 watts on HF and 6m, and 10 watts on 2m. It also has a built in CW keyer, and SWR meter. It comes with a mic and power cord. This is a great way to add 6m and 2m all modes to your shack, plus a back up HF rig, but also one that does good enough to be a dedicated HF rig. This radio is in excellent condition physically. Looks almost new. Works great also, I have worked 160 countries with this rig in the past year, and plenty of 6m and 2m QSOs with it also. The only defect is a black spot on the lower left hand corner of the display. It doesn't interfere with anything in terms of viewing but it is there. I can send pictures of the display if needed. I am asking $395 plus shipping for this very nice radio. It is a lot of radio for the price, that is for sure. I can take paypal/check/MO. 73 John AF5CC From w7gj at q.com Tue Nov 17 18:17:58 2015 From: w7gj at q.com (Lance Collister, W7GJ) Date: Tue, 17 Nov 2015 23:17:58 +0000 Subject: [50mhz] TY2AC worked on 6m EME ;-) Message-ID: <564BB5A6.7060504@q.com> Today, November 17, at 2205Z, I received final RRR from TY2AC. The Degradation was -3.5 dB and the Kp was 3. We completed our JT65A contact via EME during his moonset, despite high terrestrial ionization to his west. Signals were best when his moon was around 5 or 6 degrees elevation, but there also may be good lower lobes when the moon is setting out over the ocean at a time of day when there is no ionization to the west-southwest. Nicolas reports that he has TEP every night on 6m, so the best chance to work him on EME is when his moonset is in the early morning, when there is no terrestrial propagation. This is 6m DXCC #196 for me (#142 via 6m EME) and appears to be the first ever USA to Benin contact on 6m. Thanks to Nicolas for his patience and ability to put yet another rare African country on 6m EME! I have worked Nicolas on 6m EME from 5T5SN, TJ3SN, TN5SN, and now TY3AC :-) GL and VY 73, Lance -- Lance Collister, W7GJ (ex WA3GPL, WA1JXN, WA1JXN/C6A, ZF2OC/ZF8, E51SIX, 3D2LR, 5W0GJ, E6M, TX5K, KH8/W7GJ, V6M) P.O. I loved mine. The only thing that was tough to get used to was the menu system, having to constantly look up how to do things.
