[50mhz] ...or you could try having FUN...

Actually, FM is not used around 50.3 except in very limited areas....to put a WIDE emission in the narrowband segment of 6m is not good planning...

I know all the arguments that the MUF does not go above 50.x or 51MHz and where the SSB segment can be open, sometimes the FM segment at 52 and above is not open...However, the space of 50.42 to 50.78 is open for use and 50.5 would be a nice even freq for FM use...puts it out of the SSB segment and above the AM use like it is on 2m!

Hey, 50.50 sounds like a great new National Simplex FM freq....with modern rigs able to cover 50-54, the restrictions of 52-54 are no longer valid...and 50.50 is a nice sounding freq (50/50!)....Perfect for FM in the 21st century in the US!! :) Also those overseas should be able to access it as well...

Time to promote 50.50 as the NEW international FM simplex channel....and use 50.52 and up as 20 kHz spaced working channels (with 50.6x as packet channels) and remember to stay AWAY from 50.8-51!!! (RC aircraft, etc use!!)
