I'd go ahead and mount it with all the elements at a +/-45 degree angle
to the horizon.  By the tieme the incoming signal gets to you, it has
had plenty of opportunity to be 'skewed' by misc. refractions and
reflections.

Even near field signals would only see a slightly dimished signal
level.

Or, you can leave it laying on the concrete floor of the garage where
it's signal handling ability is a given.
