[50mhz] cushcraft a50-5 swr

I am getting ready to put up a cushcraft a50-5.once I get it on the tower it will be hard to tune so I am trying to get a decent match on the ground.OK,I know the problems with doing this.I had it tuned to a nice match at 5 ft off the ground.It is going up tomorrow and went ahd and cjhecked the dimensions.At the factory settings the swr is outragous.I can tune it to a decent swr but it is way off the factory settings.My question?? is this normal? should I re-tune for good swr settings at 5ft or go with factory and pray it will be ok on the tower? any thoughts..73 john
