[50mhz] MFJ 6m yagi feedpoint question

Has anyone tried to add a chassis mount SO239 jack to the feedpoint of the
MFJ 3 element yagi for 6m to make hooking up coax easier?  I know the
manual says that you must have very short leads at the feedpoint.  I found
that out once many years ago when I tried to use a dipole center insulator
at the feedpoint.  Can a SO239 use short enough leads to work on this yagi?
