Interesting thought process here, how using advanced modes is "cheating".

I do not work contests much anymore, but love to explore the digital
world. While down in Houston, I first got into digital and on 30m found
that with 5 watts or less, I could literally work all over the world,
with a simple antenna. I haven't tried it yet on VHF, because down there
I was not setup for those bands, but now I am back in New England, I
sure plan to do the digital thing on here as well as SSB. Haven't heard
any FM so far and I do check 52.525 occasionally.
